Khichan is a small village near Phalodi in Rajasthan. In the 1970`s a man started to feed the pigeons in the village. Demoiselle cranes also came to the feeding place. Today, every day during the winter months more than fifteen thousand cranes are fed with more than 3 tons of bird seed.

I never thought that I should visit the famous rat temple in Deshnok, but curiosity took over.
Thousands of rats are staying in the temple and are worshiped and fed by pilgrims.
It was a hair-raising and sickening experience. Absolutely amazing what religion and superstition can do with people.
