I am now in a small town called Pelling in the state of Sikkim in North Eastern India. This time I travel together with a photographer friend, Ove Kvia, who will join me for the first part of the journey.

This picture is taken from our hotel window one of the few days with a clear view towards the section of the Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal. Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,169 ft).

Another picture from our hotel window towards the Himalayas. The hotel’s name is Hotel Green Valley.

Pelling has two old monasteries, this is Pemayangtse Monastery
